Thanksgiving is upon us and we look forward to meeting and greeting our dear ones. Here are some tips in making this great day a fantastic one:

Don’t come to the table starving. Drink a few cups of water and eat something light before the meal as well as not to overeat, overstuff, and feel bad later. Try to fill up on salads and protein so that when dessert comes around you’ll have room for just a bit!

If you’re bringing kids, make sure the place is kid-friendly. Bring some crayons, coloring papers, and a toy or two for the little ones so they will be entertained and happy. A happy child makes a happy Mom!

If you’re making the meal make sure to have a variety of foods to please everyones taste. Fresh herbs add a tremendous amount of flavor to make the dish an outstanding one.

If someone has allergies make sure the host knows before hand. It may be a good idea to bring along a dish so that you’re sure you have something to eat.

Cover the table with a tablecloth that’s easy to wipe clean such as a vinyl tablecloth. If you would like to use a pretty cloth, you may want to cover it with a clear vinyl tablecloth. With a large crowd,  spills can happen. After working so hard in the kitchen and preparing all that food you deserve to get a break in the cleanup!

Lastly, enjoy the day and enjoy your company. After working so hard you’ll want to look back on this special day and be happy that you created beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.

Will you be using nice table runners or place mats to add style to the table? Will you be using the same color cloth napkins to match the tablecloth or another color for contrast?

Once the table is set you can add some cute party favors to further enhance the table. These terra-cotta flowerpot hats from Better Homes and Gardens are perfect!
