I was having guests come over for dinner and wanted to have some nice table decor to compliment my table. I found a blog on DIY napkin rings using toilet paper rolls and fabric and decided to give it a try. I had recently reupholstered my dining room chairs and having some material left over, decided to use it for the napkin rings. I thought it would be neat to have the napkin rings match the upholstery on the chairs.
I went to the craft store to get some glue and when I told her I needed basting glue as per instructions for my project, she tried convincing me that fabric glue would work better. On a whim I brought both the fabric glue and the basting glue just to make sure. Well the fabric glue just bled through the material. The basting glue worked really well. It’s certainly worth following instructions-USE ONLY BASTING GLUE!
I also found that that thicker toilet paper roll is much easier to work with than the thinner one and hopefully will make the napkin rings last much longer! It also pays to iron the material as it much easier to work with.
I slid the napkin rings onto my cloth napkins and boy did they look great!
This project was very enjoyable and it really complimented my table! Here is the link for the DIY Napkin Rings I got lots of compliments! Try it and you will too!
