Caring for your Vinyl Tablecloth

It’s Summer and we tend to want to take it easy-relaxing on the beach, grilling our dinner instead of making elaborate meals, and getting together for picnics with easy to prepare foods. People love using vinyl tablecloths especially this time of year since they are so easy to maintain. The are also an abundance of colors and styles so that you can match the decor as you wish. Turquoise is a great summer color for a party on the beach or pool party and hot pink is lovely for a baby girl shower.

There are a couple of ways to maintain a vinyl tablecloth in order to keep them around longer. While its nice to know that it is easy to wipe up spills on vinyl, try to wipe up a spill promptly. This will prevent soaking up the tablecloth and going to the flannel backing on the other side. Fold up and put away the tablecloth when not in use to prevent the color fading in the hot sun or preventing the tablecloth from getting soaked from a strong rain. This will also prevent the tablecloth from getting mold on it from excess moisture.

How to Remove Newspaper Ink Stain from a Vinyl Tablecloth

Many people just love our vinyl tablecloths since they are so easy to keep clean. They are great when there are young children in the home or when you have children come to your home as guests. Vinyl tablecloths are great to protect your tables, for birthday parties and children’s functions. Spills are easy to wipe up and they usually don’t leave stains on the tablecloth. Use a damp cloth and the spill is gone.

There are some stains however that are tough to remove. We have had some inquiries about how to get those tough stains out our vinyl tablecloths. We had a customer who got newspaper print on her vinyl tablecloth. She purchased one of our light colored vinyl tablecloths and the newspaper ink stain was very visible. Even with all our electronic technology, people still like to read their daily newspaper over their breakfast table!

None of the usual cleaning products such as rubbing alcohol, or soap helped her. We decided to do our own experiment to see which cleaning product will work to remove newspaper print. After some trial and error the two products which worked the best were Armor All  Multi  Purpose Cleaning Wipes 25ct or Goo Gone 8oz Liquid Bottle which can be found at Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, or your local hardware store. We were so happy to be able to help her out and we are happy to know that our customers can continue reading there newspaper at their table if they wish. Happy eating and reading!

Break Room Thoughts

Its way past noontime and you’re at your desk working, working, working. The deadlines are looming, all projects must be completed. You are trying to figure out the numbers so they add up. You are sitting there so long your feet are feeling like lead. You must clear you head and are oh so famished.

A walk to the breakroom might do the trick. You need to stretch your legs and get a bite to eat. The break room has a nice appeal to it. It is clean and airy. You sit by the break room tables and relax a bit. The table covers are a nice bright color and it picks up your mood. You feel so much better now and are ready to take on the rest of the day.

Studies show how important it is to take a break from our workload. It gives us time to rejuvenate and helps you concentrate and be much more productive throughout the day. Federal law does not require meal or rest breaks, but many states do. The same principles apply to rest breaks: there’s no federal requirement, but many states do mandate such breaks. The state laws that do exist tend to specify a 10-minute break that accrues every four hours or every eight hours, or something in-between.

The Affordable Care Act requires employers to provide reasonable break time for an employee to express breast milk for her nursing child for one year after the child’s birth.

Since break time is so important, check out you state rules and make sure to take advantage of the breaks that are allowed. You deserve it.

Summer Tablecloth Ideas
